Rest of Season Rankings: WRs

These rankings are based on Week 10 and beyond. These rankings do take into account how well a player has performed so far, but I am only ranking them based on hiw well I project them to play going forward. When projecting a player's value rest of season, I usually don't put a lot of emphasis on tough matchups, because football teams can change dramatically over just a few weeks. For me its more about pure talent, competition at the position, injury status & health, and a team's offensive style.

* denotes a player dealing with an injury at this time.

The section below was written on 10/19, so its a bit dated...not updating for my own personal views.

Players I expect to have a nice rebound in the second half: Marques Colston, Mike Wallace, Roddy White, Larry Fitzgerald, Hakeem Nicks, Greg Jennings...Most of these guys have talented QBs throwing to them. Fitz is the one exception to this, but he is just too talented, I still have to believe in him somewhat. Mike Wallace & Jennings are dealing with lesser QBs but still very capable. Jennings is a bit of a wildcard until we see a couple games between him and Freeman obviously.

Players who are talented but just too injury prone to be ranked higher...Danny Amendola, Miles Austin, Santonio Holmes, Steve Johnson...I really like all of these guys based on talent alone, but they have all had trouble staying in games this year. I'm not big on taking risks with injury prone players, but if you are desperate, its worth a shot to take a chance with these guys.

Players with a good chance to breakout in second half...Golden Tate, Michael Floyd, DeAndre Hopkins, Emmanuel Sanders, Tavon Austin, Justin Hunter, Aaron Dobson...This list is mostly comprised of younger players (Sanders the oldest at 26) who I could definitely see becoming primary, consistent players in the second half. With Tate, I think its possible Harvin opens up options for him. Floyd is based on the performance of Palmer and/or any other QB. Tavon Austin I'm not entirely sure about, he has looked bad, but he is extremely talented. Justin Hunter has been a favorite target of Locker in big situations, that sort of thing usually translates elsewhere eventually. With Dobson, if he can stop dropping balls, its entirely possible he overtakes Thompkins eventually.

Very deep league breakout/sleeper potential players...Kenny Stills, Tandon Doss, Cordarrelle Patterson, Brian Quick, Nick Toon, Ace Sanders, Travis Benjamin, Marquise Goodwin, Kevin Cone, Myles White, Kevin Ogletree, Quinton Patton...This list is bigger and thats because this list is just throwing darts with your eyes closed hoping for a bullseye. This list should only be under consideration for 14 team leagues or more looking for a spark. Only 1-3 of these players is likely to rise to any sort of relevance in fantasy the rest of this year. Stills and Doss are the most likely, as they have already flashed that potential. With no WR really emerging in St. Louis, Brian Quick has a shot to rise. Travis Benjamin is mostly a return man, but he has 6 touches on the year, 5 have gone for 20 yards or more, thats crazy. Lastly, I don't really think Harry Douglas is very talented, Kevin Cone would be next on the depth chart.

As always, let me know what you think. Tweet me @LopsidedTrades or leave a comment. Obviously with twitter I can't really get in depth, and rankings like these it might be best to go in depth, so consider a comment!
