  7. Josh McCown
  8. Russell Wilson
  9. Andrew Luck
  10. Nick Foles
  11. Matt Flynn
  12. Alex Smith
  13. Philip Rivers
  14. Andy Dalton
  15. Robert Griffin III

  30. Geno Smith
  31. Kellen Clemens
  32. Chad Henne
#2 Tony Romo - (#4 on Fantasy Pros Consensus Rankings)
Anytime you rank Tony Romo higher than 5th, it screams mistake. Romo is always capable of playing at a high level, but it doesn't always happen when it should. Still, at home this year in 5 games, he has scored 16+ fantasy points in 4 of them. The fifth was a weird 8 against Washington. I like to believe in a decent matchup, Romo steps up here. In a week where other options have tough defenses, Romo is your man.

#5 Peyton Manning - (#2 on Fantasy Pros)
I know, I know, Philip Rivers just cut through the Chiefs Defense like they were butter. But if either one of Justin Houston or Tamba Hali is back and in playing form for this game, they will cause trouble for Peyton. You don't need me to tell you that Peyton hasn't been amazing of late. He hasn't even been great. If it were any other QB they would be 9th or 10th at best, but I feel like 5th is me still putting my faith in Peyton here.

#9 Andrew Luck - (#13 on Fantasy Pros)
I hate this matchup for Luck, the Titans secondary continues to do very well. But I also strongly believe that Andrew's fantasy performance will rebound even if he might struggle in actual game performance. I'm not totally sure how he will score points here, but I am convinced that he will. Faith in a guy who doesn't make too many mistakes, which is where the Titans secondary specializes.

#10 Nick Foles - (#7 on Fantasy Pros)
There are a lot of reasons to like Nick Foles here. His TD:Int ratio being at the top. But the Cardinals D is good and Foles can't go on mistake-free for the rest of the year. With an extremely athletic secondary and a solid pass rush, if there was ever a game for Foles to struggle this is it. Remember that he hasn't been perfect, he did struggle against the Cowboys too.

#11 Matt Flynn - (#21 on Fantasy Pros)
I really struggled on where to put Flynn, but I ultimately feel pretty good about this spot. Flynn looked pretty impressive stepping in unexpectedly last week. He couldn't do anything in OT, but he didn't make mistakes either. Over their past 5 games, the Lions have given up 14 passing TDs. The Vikings in that same timespan have given up just 10. Thats about a full pass TD a game, or 4 extra points in a standard league. I truly believe its within reason to think 20 pts is reachable here. and 15 is my expectation.

Quicker Thoughts...I am actually in line with the consensus (1 spot ahead), so I didn't point out Josh McCown, but its a great matchup. He should really flourish here. Another good matchup for Alex Smith who has had 20+ in 3 of his last four, including the first matchup vs DEN. Its also a really good matchup for E.J. Manuel against Atlanta. He's still a rookie and ranked as such, but if you need a potential high ceiling, he would be a good pick. And as much as NYG-WAS screams shootout on paper, I don't want any part of either QB.

Week 13 WR Rankings

Normally I rank over my set amount of 75 players on a bye week! It will be interesting to see how many players I deem fantasy relevant for week 13 with everyone back. A lot of good matchups too.

  63. Donnie Avery
  64. Santana Moss
  65. Lance Moore
  66. Doug Baldwin
  67. Santonio Holmes
  68. Rishard Matthews

  85. Nate Washington
  86. Mike Brown*
  87. Vincent Brown
  88. Marlon Brown
  89. Greg Little
  90. Greg Salas
#6 Andre Johnson - (#10 on Fantasy Pros Consensus Rankings)
A lot of people will be understandably low on Andre. Not me. Its a game where they will have to throw a lot and I can't see Andre faltering again right away. Not even against Aqib Talib. Although I do love Talib, Andre is the man.

#7 Torrey Smith - (#20 on Fantasy Pros)
Torrey is one guy I always like a ton. Last week the wind took out the deep game, so keep an eye out for what the weather is. A deep threat like Torrey can definitely be mitigated in that situation. For now - I don't know what the forecast is. If it isn't too bad, I think this is another great matchup for Torrey. Just like Josh Gordon last week, he should have no problem burning the aging and slowed Steeler Defense.

#10 Demaryius Thomas - (#5 on Fantasy Pros)
The Chiefs are obviously very vulnerable right now, as the Chargers proved. Peyton is still a bit sore and Julius should be back. I think Decker is due for a bigger game and that will bring Thomas down a little.

#12 Keenan Allen - (#17 on Fantasy Pros)
I'm really glad Keenan did well last week, now I can justify my love for him again. Extremely talented and by far the best Wide Receiver on this team. He now gets a Bengals defense which is much better against the run (even without Geno). I expect him to flourish again.

#13 Kendall Wright - (#26 on Fantasy Pros)
Some people don't want to notice, but Wright has become one of the most reliable receivers. Over his last 5 games he is averaging over 85 yards a game. That would be a pace of 1300+ yards a season. You either buy it or you don't. He won't always shine, but his floor is so high - points seems like the worst case here, much better than someone like Hilton for example - and because of that it should be very hard to justify his benching.

#15 Alshon Jeffery - (#9 on Fantasy Pros)
I like Jeffery, he just isn't elite. Brandon Marshall is still far and away the #1 receiver and its not like the Rams are a likely candidate to stop him. Jeffery should have a decent, not great game.

#19 Vincent Jackson - (#13 on Fantasy Pros)
The Panthers got beat good in the passing game last week, but that doesn't mean Mike Glennon and the Bucs will be able to repeat. I see Vjax as nothing more than a WR2.

Deeper thoughts...I'm actually a bit lower than the consensus on Michael Floyd, but the jury is in, he is a very legit player. Dwayne Bowe has touchdowns in two straight games, and he now faces the Broncos again. I'm optimistic again. Percy Harvin should be much more involved this week, but its still a tough matchup and I want to see him get a ton of targets before I consider him a must start. I like Eric Decker, but if Peyton isn't playing at his usual legendary level, someone has to come down, and its been Decker so far. I also continue to like Riley Cooper as a deep threat, but that is what he is. It is important to remember deep threats are not something you can confidently rely in. This ranking reflects that. Michael Crabtree makes his return and I like him as a WR3/Flex option. A very good chance he immediately does well here.

Week 13: 55 & 5 RB Rankings

Week 13 marks the end of bye weeks. That means the deeper parts of the rankings get richer. If you're desperate, you might have a better chance taking a flier on someone in the 30s if you have to. Of course three of those games will be knocked out on Thursday. There is always a little worry that Thursday games are a little sloppier, the offenses struggle a bit. It can be true, but I wouldn't let it affect you. Last Thursday, Jimmy Graham did great, Pierre Thomas had 100+ yards like many expected, and even Harry Douglas had 80+ yards and was a solid PPR option. So don't let that worry you, and lets jump into the rankings.

  1. Matt Forte*
  2. Adrian Peterson
  3. Reggie Bush
  4. Jamaal Charles
  5. LeSean McCoy
  6. Marshawn Lynch
  7. Rashad Jennings
  8. Eddie Lacy
  9. Knowshon Moreno*
  10. Chris Johnson
  11. Zac Stacy*
  12. Andre Brown
  13. Alfred Morris
  14. Giovani Bernard
  15. DeMarco Murray
  16. Frank Gore
  17. Le'Veon Bell
  18. Fred Jackson
  19. Maurice Jones-Drew
  20. Pierre Thomas
  21. Chris Ivory*
  22. Shane Vereen
  23. C.J. Spiller
  24. Danny Woodhead
  25. Bobby Rainey
  26. Steven Jackson
  27. Rashard Mendenhall
  28. Andre Ellington
  29. Ryan Mathews*
  30. Ben Tate
  31. Ray Rice
  32. Donald Brown
  33. Brandon Bolden
  34. Chris Ogbonnaya
  35. Benny Cunningham
  36. Darren Sproles
  37. Trent Richardson
  38. Darren McFadden*
  39. Bilal Powell
  40. James Starks
  41. Brandon Jacobs
  42. Mike Tolbert
  43. Dennis Johnson
  44. Lamar Miller
  45. Stevan Ridley
  46. Brian Leonard
  47. BenJarvus Green-Ellis
  48. DeAngelo Williams
  49. Joique Bell
  50. Jacquizz Rodgers
  51. Jonathan Stewart
  52. Michael Bush
  53. Shonn Greene
  54. Roy Helu
  55. Mike Gillislee
#3 Reggie Bush - (#9 on Fantasy Pros Consensus Rankings)
Reggie gets a good matchup and he is at home. I have previously mentioned (if not here, then on Twitter multiple times) that Reggie plays much better at home. I love this matchup and I think Bush will find a lot of holes and be used heavily in the passing game.

#7 Rashad Jennings - (#14 on Fantasy Pros)
Another where I love the matchup. Dallas has been dreadful vs the run game without Sean Lee. There is some worry that DMC will steal a majority of the carries, but the Raiders say thats not the case, and I believe them. I fully expect 100+ yards and a touchdown here.

#11 Zac Stacy - (#16 on Fantasy Pros)
This is part injury part matchup for most I am sure. Either way, if Zac Stacy is out there, you want to start him. He has been nothing but impressive so far, and there is no reason it should stop even against the 49ers.

#12 Andre Brown - (#5 on Fantasy Pros)
I was surprised I was this far off the consensus here. I really like Andre Brown, I just don't think he is elite. I don't think he is better than Frank Gore. Gore struggled mightily against the Redskins. I'm not saying Brown will struggle, but there are more talented players you can choose from.

#14 Giovani Bernard - (#19 on Fantasy Pros)
I'm not sure if I'm getting sucked into a love of the talent with Bernard or not. But watching him play, its hard to resist. Regardless, a very good matchup and he has had a week of rest, it should bode very well for him.

#16 Frank Gore - (#6 on Fantasy Pros)
Another player I am surprised how low  I am on. I look at my top 10 and I feel the only aggressive play is Rashad Jennings, everyone else is so clearly undeniably ahead of Gore this week in my opinion. He hasn't rushed over 100 yards in 5-straight games. Four of those he had a YPC under 4.0. Its a great matchup but you have to wonder if the ancient RB is slowing down as the season goes on.

Deeper Thoughts...My boy C.J. Spiller is in a great matchup and its one of those weeks where he could go off or he could disappoint again. My ranking reflects the point where I feel the reward outweighs the risk. Bobby Rainey faces another tough matchup again. Its possible people might drop him if he does poorly here, keep an eye out for that because I don't think he's done. I like Donald Brown best of the Colts RBs, but I have zero confidence playing either, and you should feel the same way. I still hate Ray Rice. Lamar Miller has been terrible since the O-line debacle, wouldn't even consider playing him. Likewise no faith in Stevan Ridley. After his third straight game with a fumble, I would be very surprised if he is the starter and if he gets more than a few carries. Ranking will change IF we hear otherwise.

Week 13 Waiver Grabs

We are down to the wire here and its becoming must-win time for a lot of people, so waiver moves are especially important. I've ranked the 3-5 best guys to pick up at each position. QBs are for this week only and the rest are a mix of overall and for this week only. Most of these rankings are for players 50% owned or less, but there is an exception or two. For example, I doubt Alex Smith is owned in every competitive league despite his higher %.

QBs: (Yahoo Ownership %)
1. Josh McCown (19%) @ Minnesota
2. Matt Flynn (2%) @ Lions
3. Alex Smith (61%) vs. Broncos
4. E.J. Manuel (8%) vs. Falcons

Josh McCown has been really impressive. After two tough matchups where he got a passable grade, he now faces a much easier defense and should play really well. Flynn is much riskier because we've only seen him play half a game, but its a great matchup and he knows the system well. I have high expectations. Next you have Alex Smith who has been pretty good lately, and has another great matchup. At the same time, I don't think its fair to continually expecting 20 points, so thats why he is lower. Lastly we have the forgotten Manuel in a great matchup as well. He can run a little, and he will potentially have all of his WRs. Its promising

WRs:
1. Michael Crabtree (31%)
2. Nate Burleson (25%)
3. Rod Streater (14%)
4. Robert Woods (7%)
5. Marvin Jones (40%)

Percy Harvin got a ton of hype in his return. Crabtree on the other hand has gotten some, but its way less than Harvin. I really think Crabtree can outperform Harvin going forward. His team needs him more. He is a must add now. Burleson will probably be the top add after last week, and he should definitely be a high priority, specifically in PPR leagues. With Calvin across from him, he should do very well. Streater is a guy that I think has taken over the #1 WR role for Oakland with McGloin in. Two straight good weeks and I like him. *If* Woods is back, he is one you want for this week only. Atlanta is a joke.

RBs:
1. Chris Ogbonnaya (29%)
2. Benny Cunningham (5% - a must for Stacy owners)
3. Donald Brown (41%)
4. Dennis Johnson (41%)
5. Jacquizz Rodgers (41%)
6. Bilal Powell (39%)

I really like the Silent G Ogbonnaya. Over his last two games he has 12 carries for 95 yards. That is a fantastic 7.91 YPC. Unfortunately he has also fumbled in both of those games. He is also their best receiving back. That kind of talent (vs. basically no talent at all in Whittaker/McGahee) wins out. He might not be great this upcoming week, but he is absolutely worth a speculative add for the owner in need of an RB. Next is Cunningham. He had a great game against a terrible defense, so take from that what you will. He is definitely talented. His upside is limited by whether he gets any time. If Stacy is fine, Cunningham will be used sparingly. But he is worth the add on the chance that Stacy is out. A lot of people will sour on Brown after he inexplicably got three carries, but in most games they won't be down by double digits, and Brown will see his time.

TEs:
1. Delanie Walker (49%)
2. Tim Wright (19%)
3. Owen Daniels (16%)
3. John Carlson (12%)
5. Rob Housler (15%)

Slim pickings at Tight End compared to the rest of the positions. The one guy that definitely isn't a streaming option is Walker. Fitzpatrick really likes him. His most recent game wasn't stellar, but it was better than a lot of other middling options. And with Fitz, I think that could be as bad as it gets. I'd take a floor of 4-5 points every week if you don't have a top 5 TE. Tim Wright is next. He won't always be a top option but he has 60-70 yard upside every week. Owen Daniels is an intriguing. His return has quietly crept closer. If you don't need a tight end right away, he is a great add.

Week 12 Sunday Games Recap

As always, a number of oddities this week, especially at QB. I'll break it down and let you know what to make of it all.

Quarterback:
At QB thus far, the leading scorer is none other than the partially-forgotten Philip Rivers (27). I had him ranked outside of my top 10, and that was still higher than the consensus. Second on the day is Ryan Fitzpatrick (22). He continues to be a solid option against lesser defenses for QB2 leagues. Alex Smith (21) had his second straight week over 20, and third of 4. I still don't consider him a great choice, but he does face Denver next week. Ryan Tannehill (17) had another solid game, this time against the parents without Charles Johnson. He continues to be pretty good at home. Mike Glennon (17) also justified his ranking in the top 10 with a good performance. Thats 15 points in 6 of his last 7 games. Ben Roethlisberger (16) is another QB who has been hot lately. 16+ in 3 of his last 4. He faces Baltimore next week, I'm not interested. Matthew Stafford (15) had 4 ints, but also had 3 TDs to salvage his day fantasy-wise. Matt Flynn (14) was very solid in relief of the bad Scott Tolzien (11). And if Flynn starts next week, he should be a solid option. Andrew Luck (13) struggled again, and you definitely have to be worried going forward. Matt McGloin (12) didn't play well, but considering how highly I think of the Titans defense, I was pretty impressed. Next week against Dallas? Who knows. I was pretty low on Case Keenum (4) but this was awful. I would have no confidence in him going forward.

Running Backs:
Not much of a surprise at the top, Jamaal Charles (27) hadn't been great lately though. It was nice to see him with a great game again. MJD (21) was a big surprise in the top 5. He looked pretty decent and has now had a rushing TD in his past 3 games. Danny Woodhead (18) had two TDs against the formerly tough Chiefs. He is a great play every week. Andre Brown (15) lived up to expectations against the Cowboys. Despite not scoring a TD, owners have to be satisfied with 138 total yards and a 2PC. Rashad Jennings (11) faces the Cowboys next and he had a decent game here. Also didn't score, but had over 100 total yards as well. Le'Veon Bell (8) had a typical game for him. He rushed 23 times for 80 yards. But the point is he gets a ton of carries, its rough next week against Baltimore, but it gets better after that for playoffs. Ray Rice (3) was back to terrible. I have no confidence in him whatsoever. Ben Tate (2) looked really bad, with 7 carries for just 1 yard. Dennis Johnson (8) stepped up and looked pretty good. Because of that, I'm not confident in starting either going forward. I felt Chris Ivory (3) did not do a bad job, but Geno Smith was so bad again that he hindered the entire offense. Not good. The lions defense lived up to the bill and stopped Bobby Rainey (3) cold in his tracks. It doesn't get better the next two weeks with Carolina and Buffalo. Chris Ogbonnaya (1) looked good, but lost a fumble and only got 4 carries. We'll have to see if this will hurt his time going forward. I think he is startable in bad situations if he is still going to get time. Also of note, Donald Brown (0) only got 3 touches. It was bad playcalling by Indy, and they fell behind really quick. Kind of optimistic next week vs Tenn.

Wide Receivers:
Obviously we have to start off with the incredible performance by Josh Gordon (29). I don't want to overreact and say he is elite, he still has to deal with one of two bad QBs after all. But the dude is a must start and has a great schedule the rest of the way. He might have a down game or two in those 5, but the good ones will be really good. Mike Wallace (18) also had a great game. Its hard to know what to make of this. He's a deep threat and so he will be inconsistent. BUT, you can beat the Jets deep. I'd still have a hard time starting him. Larry Fitzgerald (17) had his second best game of the year. It only came on 5 receptions, but its a good sign that he is getting into the endzone. With Philly up next, he's a great play. Jacoby Jones (16) had a great game. But like I said, you can beat the Jets deep, I wouldn't consider him a must-add. Kendall Wright (16) lived up to the high expectations this week thanks to a late touchdown. Only 5 catches, which is low for him, but it didn't matter. He is a good WR2 in standard leagues and a high end WR2 in PPRs. Tavon Austin (15) with another good week, but again how can you feel good about playing him? Only 3 touches. I'm not risking him on a weekly basis hoping for 60 yard plays. He is CJ Spiller without 15+ opportunities. Nate Burleson (13) had a great game in his return. This one was aided by Calvin being shut down a little by Revis and Co., but very promising going forward. He should be owned in all leagues, a middling WR3/Flex. A lot of people were low on Keenan Allen (12). I was a bit worried because of knee problems, but I maintained full faith in him. He has a great schedule going forward. Michael Floyd (10) with his second straight 100 yard game. He will still be limited by Carson Palmer, but when Palmer is good, Floyd benefits big time. Torrey Smith (7) had one big catch, but was otherwise limited in a windy day in Baltimore. I still like him a decent amount going forward. Andre Johnson and T.Y. Hilton (3) were two of the biggest disappointments this week. Both struggled as did their QBs. Not souring on them long-term. Miles Austin's (1) return led to just one catch, but he saw more than Terrance Williams (1) so its a bit promising for the upcoming games. If you own him, I wouldn't drop him yet, unless someone like Burleson is out there. Victor Cruz (2) with another bad game. Its a little his fault, but mostly the poor play of Eli.

Tight Ends:
Jason Witten (15) kicked his bad games away from Dallas problem to the curb. He only had 3 yards and 4 catches, but two of them were TDs, so thats all that matters for fantasy-owners. Still, I'm a little worried about his inconsistency, but if you own him, you are probably starting him. Ladarius Green (14) of the Chargers went over 80 yards for the second straight game. I like him, but with Antonio Gates (2) there, I still don't want him for this year. Martellus Bennett (12) had a nice game, but for the most part has been bad with McCown and I don't really want to use him. Jeffery will have his touchdown in most games. Coby Fleener (11) wasn't overly impressive, but he got a touchdown and he continues the trend of players doing very well against Arizona. Greg Olsen (9) now has 4 TDs in his last 5 games. He has become very reliable as an option in the next tier if you don't own the elite TEs. Timothy Wright (7) bounced back after some quiet games. I like him, but I wouldn't feel good about starting him. Rob Housler (5) & Delanie Walker (4) didn't play terrible, but they didn't play great either. If you started them you are a bit disappointed, but 4 points isn't the worst thing. Garrett Graham & Jordan Cameron (3) were disappointments. Graham is dependent on his QB, but Owen Daniels will be back soon enough. If you own Cameron, hope that Brandon Weeden plays next week, as it is the best possible thing for you if you still plan on starting him.

Week 12 QB Rankings

  1. Peyton Manning
  2. Matthew Stafford
  3. Tom Brady
  4. Cam Newton
  5. Tony Romo
  6. Colin Kaepernick
  7. Andrew Luck
  8. Eli Manning
  9. Mike Glennon
  10. Robert Griffin III
  11. Philip Rivers
  12. Case Keenum
  13. Ben Roethlisberger
  14. Alex Smith
  15. Christian Ponder
  16. Joe Flacco
  17. Ryan Fitzpatrick
  18. Carson Palmer
  19. Josh McCown
  20. Ryan Tannehill
  21. Scott Tolzien
  22. Geno Smith
  23. Jason Campbell
  24. Matt McGloin
  25. Chad Henne
  26. Kellen Clemens
#6 Colin Kaepernick - (#8 on Fantasy Pros Consensus Rankings)
If not now, when? Manningham is at full health, the Redskins won't be able to stop Anquan Boldin or Vernon Davis. That should open the run game too. Obviously a great matchup so you want to be starting Kaep here.

#8 Eli Manning - (#11 on Fantasy Pros)
Eli Manning's only fantasy performance above 15 points this year? In week 1 against Dallas of course, where he scored a whopping 28. I'm not saying that is going to happen again, but you don't need me to tell you that Dallas gives up a lot of points. To be precise, they allow the most points to QBs fantasy-wise. If Eli can't perform here, I would be very surprised, as bad as he has been lately.

#9 Mike Glennon - (#12 on Fantasy Pros)
The Mike Glennon bandwagon has really started to pick up. I've heard some very smart analysts say Glennon is easily the most impressive rookie QB playing this year. The list is not that extensive or impressive, but its high praise for the 3rd round pick. 15 or more points in 5 of his 6 games since coming off the bye. Against the Lions? Should be no problem.

#11 Philip Rivers - (#16 on Fantasy Pros)
The ranking I differ on most from the consensus this week. Rivers has cooled off somewhat, but still has double-digit fantasy points in every single game this year. The Chiefs are a consistent defense, but rarely completely shut down a quarterback. Only Blaine Gabbert (remember him?) & interception champ Eli Manning have had less than double digit points against the Chiefs this year. Its not great, but its not good either.

#12 Case Keenum - (#8 on Fantasy Pros)
Everyone loves this matchup against Jacksonville, and its hard to blame them. But for me I still see a first-year starting QB that hasn't figured it all out yet. He didn't do awful vs the Raiders, but it wasn't as good as you hoped before he got benched (unfairly I might add).

Quicker Hits...I've seen a lot of people optimistic on Scott Tolzien this week as well. Not me. Consider this: Tolzien threw 3 picks against the Giants. The same Giants that could only get 1 interception each from Matt Barkley, Terrelle Pryor, and Josh Freeman. I'll pass. I wouldn't get tempted by Josh McCown either. The Rams have shut down QBs lately. I do kind of like Christian Ponder against the Packers. Before getting shut down against the Seahawks (and that was expected), he had been an okay alternate option as a fantasy QB lately.

Week 12 WR Rankings

This week is an interesting one. We have 10 options I would classify as fantastic (if Welker plays) but then I feel there is a big drop off at WR2. You have Garçon and Antonio Brown in bad matchups,  Keenan Allen hurting, stuff like that. By the time you get to around 22, where I have Anquan Boldin against the Redskins it's get to a point where those are still starting options but it's not like you feel great about them.

#9 Torrey Smith - (#14 on Fantasy Pros Consensus Rankings)
Surprisingly I was within 2 spots of the consensus on the first 8 WRs this week! Torrey Smith I am high on as I normally am. He now has TDs in back to back games and has received 22 targets in that span. Of course he has less than 50 yards in each game as well. But that changes here, the Jets are a team that gets burned easily as we saw last week against the Bills. If I had to bet, I would bet on Smith to have at least one catch of 30+ yards.

#13 Alshon Jeffery - (#10 on Fantasy Pros)
Obviously still a decent play here, but I think when Brandon Marshall returns as the top target this week (the Ravens did a good job shutting him down) Jeffery takes a step back again. No doubt he is talented, but I do not think he is as good as his recent numbers and I expect him to play at a high level, but I wouldn't call him a star just yet.

#17 Kendall Wright - (#20 on Fantasy Pros)
Already a PPR machine, but he is a great all around matchup this week. Should easily see 8+ catches for 80 yards and I think he has a very nice shot at a TD against the so-so Raiders this week.

#20 Harry Douglas - (#25 on Fantasy Pros)
Douglas got a majority of his fantasy points on one big play last week. This week the consensus is pretty low on him, but I still like him as a WR2 in any league. Most people are scared of Matt Ryan here, but I think he will do okay. And if he does that means Douglas will be fine. Ryan plays much better at home, and I'm buying into that.

#22 Anquan Boldin - (#27 on Fantasy Pros)
Great matchup this week against Washington. Boldin should have no problem getting separation and having a decent day. I know he has been very mediocre after week 1, but I trust him as a middle of the line WR2/Decent flex play.

#24 Marques Colston - (#17 on Fantasy Pros)
Yes, the Falcons defense is trash. It appears everyone has jumped on the Colston bandwagon because of it. I'm not sold. Brees is still a guy that likes to spread it around and this weak defense could easily benefit Kenny Stills instead. Colston is a flex play here, but nothing more. Remember, he was basically irrelevant for most of the season. Two decent games hasn't completely flipped my view.

Deeper thoughts...Having given up on Hakeem Nicks for the most part, I ranked Rueben Randle pretty highly as well. Good matchup, like his shot at a TD. If Emmanuel Sanders plays, I think its a very good matchup for him as well. Aaron Dobson should be a nice play against Denver. Its time for him to either have a big game or become fantasy irrelevant. There is an outside chance Kenbrell Thompkins ends up with the good game too. Dwayne Bowe has started to see an increase in targets, but with Alex Smith he is simply not a great fantasy option ever. As mentioned with Colston, I really think there is a good chance Kenny Stills has a big game here, he can easily burn the defense. Brian Hartline saw an abundance of targets last week, he is a nice deeper league option. I want to say I like Cordarrelle Patterson this week, but with 9 targets last week he didn't do much. It would be a risky play.

#6 Knowshon Moreno - (#9 on Fantasy Pros Conensus Rankings)
I know people would be down on him after seeing Montee Ball get both goal line rush TDs last week. I am not worried. It seemingly went unnoticed, but Moreno got a season-high 27 carries last week! He didn't do much, but that is very promising. He is very clearly still the preferred option and I am not concerned.

#10 Andre Brown - (#6 on Fantasy Pros)
I am surprised many see Andre as the 6th best option this week. He is a good running back on a team that likes to run, but he is not a great running back. Even against a bad Dallas run defense minus Sean Lee, I don't see him exploding. He will still be a very good option and at #10 is still a must start.

#11 Stevan Ridley - (#16 on Fantasy Pros)
Here is another situation where I think people are overreacting. First we must remember that Carolina is very good against the run. Shane Vereen was much better suited against that team as a receiving RB. Secondly, Vereen is strictly a pass-catching back based on what we saw last week. He played in 34 snaps and 33 of them were passing plays. What that means is that Ridley and Vereen are not competing for touches. The only potential scare here is that Ridley might see reduced time because of his fumble. If I hear anything on that front, I'll adjust my ranking.

#12 Pierre Thomas - (#18 on Fantasy Pros)
I love this matchup for Pierre. Did you know he has had six straight games with at least 80 total yards? He also has 4 TDs in that span. In a great matchup, I think he gets a lot of action and a lot of points.

#15 Chris Ivory - (#23 on Fantasy Pros)
Another ranking I don't completely understand. I had Ivory 15th last week as well and he lived up to the ranking. He is very clearly the #1 RB on this team and they will run a lot with their rookie QB. Speaking of Geno, there is simply no way he can be as bad as he was last week, and that will open up more opportunities for Ivory as well.

#18 Ben Tate - (#8 on Fantasy Pros)
Another ranking I am apparently not in sync with the consensus. Tate is a good RB, but people are underrating the Jags defense. They have done a nice job shutting RBs down lately. Considering how poor they have played against the pass, it doesn't make sense to try to run a ton either. If Kubiak is smart, this is a great opportunity to let Case Keenum throw all day and build his confidence, reducing Tate to a good but not great option.

Deeper Thoughts...Temper expectations for Bobby Rainey. He played amazingly well last week, but the Lions are a tougher run defense and there is a reason Rainey was cut from the lacking Browns. He's not fool's gold, but he isn't going to be a superstar either. I know Ryan Mathews has been playing at a high level as well, but its a tough matchup and one that better fits Danny Woodhead. Maurice Jones-Drew has scored some touchdowns lately, but otherwised looked terrible. I'm not interested in starting him as more than an average flex option. As I explained on twitter, I still want no part of Ray Rice. Sell high if you can. I ranked Jacquizz Rodgers higher than Steven Jackson. I still think he fits the Darren Sproles/Danny Woodhead mold and if they give him the ball more, they will get better results. As indicated earlier, I'm a big believer in Knowshon still, I wouldn't expect much from Montee Ball but just because of the offense he's always a possibility for a TD if you need a flier.

Week 11 Sunday Games Recap

Another week, more surprises as always. At least this week wasn't a big one for injuries. So far, the highest scoring player is Bobby Rainey. What? Lifetime backup who was cut by the no-running-game-whatsoever Browns Bobby Rainey? Indeed. Weird stuff.

Quarterbacks...
Ben Roethlisberger (31) stands atop the QB rankings so far for this week. It was his 2nd great game in 3 weeks. He is still not an every week starter, but he should be owned in all leagues. Right behind him was Carson Palmer (24) with his best game of the year. Facing the Jags, I'm not putting much stock into this one. RGIII (22) had a good game. I boldly put him ahead of Nick Foles this week. Foles (21) also did well, but it was the right call. Both QBs played good here as expected. Matthew McGloin (19) was the real shocker of the day. An undrafted free agent, he only threw for 197 yards but also three TDs and 0 ints and looked very poised. Not super high on him, but worth an add if you are desperate. Mike Glennon (17) had another decent but not spectacular game and is a very serviceable second option to those in need. Andy Dalton got 11 points and threw for 3 TDs. That is an impressive feat, considering 3 TDs are worth 12 points on their own. Backup QBs finally had down games as Josh McCown (12), Case Keenum (8), and Jason Campbell (7) all struggled. Its why I ranked Ryan Tannehill (14) so highly. He is a very reliable option and was a decent if not great start when several other options did poorly. And if you started Geno Smith (-4), my 20th ranked QB...#1 you shouldn't have, but #2 I'm sorry anyway.

Running Backs...
The biggest surprise of the day came, as I already mentioned, in Bobby Rainey (34) who looked absolutely dominant. He looked great, but don't expect too much going forward, he has some brutal matchups. The next surprise was Rashad Jennings (21). I wasn't a believer, but I think after this performance you have to buy in somewhat as an every game start. Even if half of it was on one run, he is getting the touches and looking decent enough. Of course Ray Rice (20) put up a good game. I want no part of it, selling high as fast as I can. Chris Ivory (15) had another good game. Not involved in the receiving end, but has now had 3 double digit games in the past 4. I like it. Ryan Mathews (13) had his third 100 yard rushing game of the day. He will never be a top play, but he has established himself as a solid RB2. Ben Tate (10) hasn't been anything special, but as the premier back for Houston he gets a ton of touches, I like him going forward. Somewhat disappointing day for Giovani Bernard (8) with just 86 total yards, but it still wasn't bad. The whole game had a weird flow for the Bengals, I'm not concerned. Reggie Bush (3) had his worst game of the season. I did highlight him as a not so great play, but I still had him 10th. Not too much to take away from this game, you are still starting him. Darren Sproles (2) had another miss of a game. How can you feel good about starting him ever? C.J. Spiller (1) was also a complete miss, but it was against the toughest run defense. He has a bye next week and then who knows what he will do...Andre Ellington (1) was a huge disappointment this week. I was fairly low on him compared to others, but I still expected him to be kind of decent here.

Wide Receivers...
The top two wide receivers faced each other in an excellent duel of elites. Of course Calvin Johnson (29) came out on top, but Antonio Brown (26) held his own. And yes he is elite. Michael Floyd (25) was a surprising third after having a huge 91 yard touchdown, but he played well even outside of that. Unfortunately, he still lives and dies with Carson Palmer. Harry Douglas (19) had me worried because of his injury, but he got off a huge play and had another good game. Continues to show playmaking ability, but I'm still not sold on his overall talent. I had been touting Josh Gordon (18) all week and he didn't let me down. I was nervous after an empty first half, but he had one of his usual megaplays and saved the day. Dude is going to be a bit inconsistent, but incredibly talented. Marquise Goodwin (15) was another guy I was big on all week as a sleeper. Sure enough he and T.J. Graham (13) both lived up to their deep play reputations. Andre Johnson, Jordy Nelson, and Victor Cruz (11) were all held without a touchdown, but got their yards. Cruz is still a must start every week. Nelson is in WR2 territory without Rodgers, but still a worthy player. Torrey Smith (9) had another TD, and hopefully the trend continues next week, I really like him rest of season. I expected Brandon Marshall (4) to do well, but it turned out Alshon Jeffery (9) was the yard gainer for the Bears this week. Both guys are good options going forward. Roddy White (9) got a touchdown, but still only had 36 yards. I would not look at this as a sign that he is back. Denarius Moore (7) also got a TD to save a bad game. The Texans were a tough matchup, I'm intrigued by him going forward. Riley Cooper (3) finally slowed down, but he was close to a TD and a couple big plays on occasion. Nick Foles clearly likes him, and he is still flex worthy going forward, even though I was low on him all week. I expected Golden Tate (2) to benefit from the return of Percy Harvin (1). But in a game where the Seahawks scored 40+, neither did well. They have a bye next week, and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the fantasy playoffs. AJ Green (7 yards) was the major disappointment of the day. I was low on him, but I wasn't going to sit him. No regrets on my part, but major credit to Joe Haden as always. DeAndre Hopkins (0) was another big downer, but that whole game was a mess for the Texans.

Tight Ends...
Of course, Gronk hasn't played yet, so we are missing one of the two major guys, but Garrett Graham (17) C'MON!!! I was hyping you for 3-4 weeks now, I completely gave up and this happens. Ugh. Thats fantasy. Charles Clay (15) also came back from irrelevance in a strange day for tight ends. Jimmy Graham (4) had 6 catches but just 41 yards and couldn't force himself into the end zone on multiple tries. Pretty disappointing. Antonio Gates (11) and Vernon Davis (9) were the only high level TEs to play as such. Tony Gonzalez (7) for all his injury woes, had a decent game here. Heath Miller (6) had 8 catches which was a big boost for PPR. Jordan Cameron (2) had 6 catches but just 29 yards. Jason Campbell has been awful at getting him the ball. That has to change, he is too good a target for that. Jordan Reed (1) suffered a concussion and had to leave the game. No word on his status for next week. Concussions can vary greatly...

#2 Pierre Garcon - (#6 on Fantasy Pros Consensus Rankings)
It seems like I am never quite in sync with the consensus on Garcon. Either way, he has played at a fantastic level the past few weeks. There is no reason at all to think he will slow down with this matchup. With some other matchups, he flies up the rankings for me.

#7 Josh Gordon - (#16 on Fantasy Pros)
Obviously a bit of a risky call here, but the Bengals are more than capable of giving up some big plays to a burner like Gordon. Last week Torrey Smith caught his first touchdown in five weeks against the Bengals. I expect Gordon to also find the endzone with even more yardage.

#8 Brandon Marshall - (#3 on Fantasy Pros)
This is a matchup that will test Josh McCown. Besides a slip up against the Browns last week, and the atrocity in Denver - The Ravens have been excellent at preventing passing touchdowns. Even though Josh McCown has performed admirably in a few games, I have my doubts about just how much scoring Marshall can do here.

#10 AJ Green - (#5 on Fantasy Pros)
This ranking is nothing but pure respect for Joe Haden. Green saw 15 targets against the Browns earlier this year and only managed 51 yards. For that to change, Green will have to rely on Dalton to make some perfect throws. No thanks.

#5 Wes Welker / #12 Demaryius Thomas - (#10/#7 on Fantasy Pros)
The Chiefs have some good corners. While I expect the Broncos to perform well, the touchdowns rarely stay consistent in Denver from week-to-week. I believe the Chiefs have the athleticism to keep up with Demaryius, but Welker's route running and experience should be a key advantage in the middle. I guess its somewhat of a gut call, but I feel pretty good about it.

Quick thoughts....I think Roddy White will be the one facing Revis Island, which should lead to a pretty good game for Harry Douglas. A bit of a risk though. Riley Cooper faces a high chance for regression. Nick Foles really seems to like him, but the touchdown rate can't last forever. As you can see, I'm not super high on Percy Harvin this week. Consensus is that he should be pretty limited in snaps. Thats not a kiss of death, but with Russell Wilson being a guy that likes to spread the ball around it doesn't bode well. This week will be big in what I think of rookies DeAndre Hopkins and Aaron Dobson going forward. Hopkins has the much better matchup, but Dobson has the better QB and they seem to be developing a connection. I'm very interested in how it will play out. This is the lowest I've been on Hakeem Nicks and Rueben Randle is right behind him. I'm pretty certain one of them will be a good play, but I'd rather not gamble on finding out which one.

#5 Alfred Morris - (#9 on Fantasy Pros Consensus Rankings)
Alfred Morris has at least 13 points in four of his last five games. On the other hand, the Eagles have been surprisingly tough against running backs after a bad start to the season, allowing just 13.8 fantasy points to running backs per game. Thats as a whole, so it includes the 2-3 points a backup would get as well. Its pretty good. I'm just not really buying into them as a good defense. They stopped Eddie Lacy last week as the QB was a third stringer. Not impressed. Morris will perform very well.

#9 Giovani Bernard - (#15 on Fantasy Pros)
I suppose this ranking is pretty aggressive for a guy that doesn't average 18+ touches a game, but Gio is that good. It appears the Bernard is trending upwards in touches, overtaking BJGE as the main ball carrier. Further, the Browns defense just isn't what it was early on in the season. Bernard is an explosive talent, and I guess while I'm down on CJ Spiller, I need someone else to take that explosive talent role!

#10 Reggie Bush - (#5 on Fantasy Pros)
This is definitely a risky call by me, but I don't see Bush playing very well this week. Pittsburgh is a bad matchup for pass catching RBs. The Steelers allow the fewest receptions and receiving yards to opposing running backs with just one touchdown reception. Bush can run on them which is why he is still in the top 10, but its hard to see this as a great game.

#13 Fred Jackson - (#22 on Fantasy Pros)
I was surprised I was so far away from the consensus on Fred Jackson. Then again, the Jets have a fantastic defense. They haven't allowed 100 total rushing yards to running backs yet this season, the only team to do so. (The Lions are next best, having allowed exactly 100 rushing yards once) Why so high on Fred Jackson? To be honest I'm probably a bit too high here, and this may come down later on in the week. However, the Jets have allowed 5 rushing touchdowns, which is the tied for the most of any team of those allowing 15 points or less a week to RBs. I do feel like Fjax finds the endzone here.

#16 Chris Ivory - (#24 on Fantasy Pros)
I might be very high on Ivory, but this is one I feel good about. The only worry here is whether Bilal Powell is more involved this week. Its certainly a possible, but Ivory is clearly the better back. The Bills don't allow a ton of yardage, but much like the Steelers last week, the Jets should run the ball 30+ times in this game. If Ivory can get 20 of those, it almost definitely justifies the ranking.

Deeper League Thoughts...My ranking of Stevan Ridley has nothing to do with me expecting Shane Vereen to take a big role, its more respect for a great Panthers defense. As much as I love CJ Spiller, its hard to have any confidence in him this week. It is worth noting that his top three yardages this year have come against Carolina, KC, and Baltimore which are all in the bottom six for fantasy points allowed to running backs. I am low on Ray Rice compared to the consensus, so even in a pretty good matchup against the bears I have no confidence at all. The Browns claim they want to get Chris Ogbonnaya more involved. It makes sense with the way Willis McGahee has been playing. Worth a flier if you're desperate.

#3 Jordan Cameron - (#7 on Fantasy Pros Consensus Rankings)
I've got a real good feeling on this one. Cameron is coming off two weeks in which he had a total of .4 points (4 yards and then a bye). His value is super low, a lot of people are out on him. He played very well against the Bengals in their first matchup and even though the last game was abysmal, I think Jason Campbell will use Cameron more often here.

#6 Jordan Reed - (#3 on Fantasy Pros)
Reed is pretty darn good, I'll give you that. I just traded for him in one league. The Eagles are surprisingly decent against Tight Ends, last week Brandon Bostick was the first tight end to score on them. Reed should have a good day, but if he doesn't find the endzone, this ranking is about right.

#9 Scott Chandler - (#15 on Fantasy Pros)
The wide receivers are in bad shape for the BIlls with both Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods ruled out. The 6'7" Chandler will serve as a great security blanket for EJ Manuel. In addition the Jets are surprisingly weak against tight ends, giving up the 4th most points to opposing TEs. This makes it a pretty good week for Chandler.

#10 Rob Housler - (#18 on Fantasy Pros)
Even as Tennessee struggled badly last week, Delanie Walker had a nice game. I don't expect Arizona to struggle as much and that should lead to Housler being a low-end TE1 and a pretty nice option if you are worried about Gonzo.

Deep Thoughts...After a disappointing week, I am pretty much out on Charles Clay and Timothy Wright. Neither have terrible matchups but there are better options out there. Also totally out on Martellus Bennett. His last time scoring over 5 points was the game where he had a touchdown. His only 7 yards of the game...If you're really desperate, Brandon Bostick is worth a flier. He is a much better receiving tight end than Andrew Quarless.
