QBs:
With one and a half games left to play, three of the top 6 QBs for week 6 were Nick Foles (29 points), Andy Dalton (24 points), and Thad Lewis (23 points). Thats the kind of week it was. Lewis is still not a fantasy relevant option despite his impressive 2013 debut. Dalton is a guy who has all the weapons, so hes bound to have a few good days, but he is still a big disappointment this season. He might be worth a stash as a backup depending on your options. Out of these guys, Nick Foles is the most intriguing option. If he were to become the permanent starter, that offense with LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson could make him a top 12-14 QB, someone who should be on every roster. Cam Newton is the top scoring QB so far. It basically comes down to whether he gets a rushing touchdown or not. I had Aaron Rodgers ranked ahead of Peyton Manning but both came away with disappointing days. Rodgers lost James Jones and Randall Cobb for the day, but it shouldn't affect him too much if they have to miss a game or two. Alex Smith was the most disappointing QB of the day. He has knocked himself back out of starting consideration for fantasy leagues.
RBs:
Welcome back Stevan Ridley, if you owned him there is a good chance you didn't start him. I wouldn't be disappointed. This ensures he is no doubt the starting RB at least until Vereen comes back. Vereen may be able to shake things up. Mike Tolbert had two touchdowns today. He is a very big goal line option worthy of roster consideration in deeper leagues. Andre Ellington finally overtook Rashard Mendenhall in touches. He's still available in a lot of leagues and is certainly a flex option. Eddie Lacy had the most impressive day in my opinion. He faced the #1 run defense and destroyed them. I would buy him as a top 12 RB if you can. Doug Martin with another disappointing day, but I'm not selling low. Le'Veon Bell had a very tough matchup, not concerned about him either. Ray Rice is someone I am concerned with. He hasn't looked great this year in any game and was really bad against a mediocre Packers run D. If someone offered you a top 15 RB, I would consider it. I was really high on Mike Goodson rest of season. He may have torn his ACL, and that puts Bilal Powell back on the radar as a relevant option the rest of the way just because he will get the touches.
WRs:
I hated Vincent Jackson this week and he proved me wrong. #1 WR so far. Mike Glennon has shown us he is capable of making throws. Jackson is not more than 15-20th best the rest of the way, but thats still solid. I love Justin Blackmon, Chad Henne will throw to him 20 times a game if he thinks he can get the ball in there. He is a must-start. AJ Green rewarded owners with a good day. Expect to see more of those in the future as that buy-low window has evaporated. Denarius Moore is someone I still think you could get a good price. He and Pryor have great chemistry. Steve Smith had a touchdown but only 21 yards. I would trade him if you have him. If Randall Cobb or James Jones or out for a significant amount of time, Jarett Boykin is next up. He had 6 targets, but only managed to haul in one of them. I said it last week, but Chris Givens is droppable. So is teammate Tavon Austin. Much better options out there. Torrey Smith was the biggest disappointment of the week, especially considering Flacco did well. Just when you think he's become a reliable option...
TEs:
Joseph Fauria had three touchdown catches today. He has five touchdowns on 7 catches. That is unsustainable. Someone will add him, but its not me. Kyle Rudolph and Dallas Clark were also among the top 5 this week. Both are very inconsistent and I'm not interested. Timothy Wright is an interesting one. He appears to be on the same page with Mike Glennon. He is worth an add. Jordan Cameron has been a disappointment for two straight weeks, but he is still very much a top option at TE. Jordan Reed playing right now is very talented. I'd pick him up. Garret Graham and Greg Olsen had very disappointing days. I like Graham better, but we'll have to see how serious the Matt Schaub injury is.
Thats all for this week. I hope you won your matchup. If not, there is always a positive to take away from your team, look for that!
